Panasonic NN-SD377S 0.8 cu ft Stainless Steel Microwave Review

The Panasonic NN-SD377S 0.8 Cu Ft, 800 Watt Stainless Steel Microwave Oven is the perfect choice for people who are looking for a compact microwave oven that will still get the job done. Just recently, I had to replace my old counter top microwave and in doing my research, I ran across this little thing. After reading through all of the reviews, I decided to purchase this one despite the fact that many reviewers stated I wouldn’t b e able to read the display unless I was facing the microwave directly. After receiving the microwave, I have to say I am glad I purchased it because all of those reviews were wrong. I personally have no issue trying to read the display, no matter where I am standing.

 

Something else about this 800-watt compact microwave is that it comes with a 9-5/8 inch turntable. Many people think that this is going to be too small for everyday use, but trust me it’s not. The turntable can easily hold a full size dinner plate, but even better is that it still has room to spare. One thing that did throw me for a loop though was the indentation that is located on the upper-left hand corner of the door. I thought this happened during shipping, but turns out it is intentionally placed there to allow the door to open without being caught up on anything.

 

Pros:

• Pop-Out Dial – One of the best things about this microwave is the pop-out dial. This simple control is one of the things that makes this microwave so easy to use. I simply set the dial and press the start button to begin cooking with the microwave, no more having to push buttons on a LCD display,.

 

• 1-Touch Sensor Cooking – Something else that I really enjoy with this microwave is the 1-touch sensor cooking because it allows me to cook certain things without ever worrying about overcooking them. The sensor cooking is great because all I do is push a button and the microwave does the rest; the sensor shuts the microwave off once it senses the food has been cooked thoroughly.

 

• Extra Controls – In addition to the 1-touch sensor cooking and the pop-out dial the microwave comes with other controls that are designed to make cooking with this microwave easier. Some of the other controls are a popcorn button that delivers perfectly popped popcorn each time, but there is also a quick minute that allows users to push the button and the cooking begins immediately at one minute, no having to push start after setting the time.

 

• Delay-Start Function – Sometimes when I am in the middle of cooking dinner I lose track of when things have to be started in order for everything to be ready all at once to be served. With the delay-start button, I can plan ahead when I need the item to be cooked or reheated and the microwave takes care of the rest. I no longer have to worry about getting that last thing out to the dinner table after everybody has sat down to eat.

Cons:

• Paper Cover Inside Microwave – The worst thing about this microwave is the paper cover that is located inside the microwave. This 2-inch by 4-inch piece of paper is held in place by a single screw and according to the manufacturer’s manual, it isn’t supposed to be removed. This to me is the worst part because of cleaning the microwave. What drives me nuts is I cannot get the piece of paper clean no matter what I try.

 

One of the things that I like best about the Panasonic NN-SD377S is how easy it is to use, it is almost as easy as my old microwave despite the new innovative controls. One thing I did have to change is where I placed my microwave because the plug is not a flat plug, so I couldn’t place the microwave flush against the back of the counter. Even with having to change the location of the microwave, I have never regretted making this purchase and am very pleased with its reasonable price.
